I have had a long and wonderful career as a music educator and am now retired, but my passion for teaching music is still strong. I recently moved from Upstate NY to Fort Mill, SC and am excited to open a studio in my new home. My background is in instrumental music and choral/ classroom. It has been a delight to be involved in both band and choral musical activities. Read More

I think my approach to teaching piano is highly individualized. What motivates one student will not necessarily motivate another. Brief example: I currently have a student who likes to give me really "hard" high-fives after he has accomplished something. While he is adorable and he will work really hard to give me that high-five; this wouldn't work on many other students. Whatever will inspire my student to practice is what I will provide whether that is praise or stickers. Read More

I'm passionate about sharing my love of music with students. I've been teaching privately for over ten years now, and am at home teaching students of all ages. Through music, I've had the opportunity to play in many different states, as well as overseas. I am eclectic in my musical experiences, as I am at home teaching classical, jazz, and other styles. One of the great experiences of my life was being able to travel to England to perform in the 2014 London New Year's Day festivities. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my high school years where i would actually walk to a students home to teach. I have been teaching for over 50 years. Students leave with a sense of excitement and accomplishment and look foward to the next weeks lesson. Making music with new students is always exciting and very rewarding to see a new student actually accomplishing something that will benefit their lives in future years to come. Read More

I then went on to work with intermediate level students and in college I worked with advanced as well as beginner voice students. I love sharing the passion and love I have for music with students. I believe that a consistent practice and lesson schedule works to both my and the students advancement and growth in music. Read More

I first find out a little bit about my students musical likes and taste, or, with younger students, find somethingfun that interests them, just to find some common ground. I also find out a students long term goals. For instance, if a student seeks to be a opera singer as opposed to a worship leader, the training needs to be more pointed towards classical pieces and Arias instead of learning church music and how to engage a crowd. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
