Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire. Practice is important, but smart practice is essential. I help the student to practice efficiently without wasting time or energy. Smart practice also means to get results and achieve goals quickly. Technique is tremendously important in order to execute the music. Classical music is the fundamental and first step a student needs to take in order to learn and perform music properly. I use a variety of methods, custom-fit for each student individually. I teach Classical and church piano, along with sightreading, ear training, performance techniques, music theory, and other techniques specially designed to give my students the most well-rounded learning experience possible. I tend to prefer Piano Adventures for younger students and teens, and incorporate use of the corresponding app whenever possible. I also focus on helping students learn to play by ear, since I believe this is the quickest way to feel a mastery over the instrument! Read More
