I have had a desire to play and perform music since I was six years old. This interest was sparked by the wonderfully scored film: Tarzan (Disney). The African percussion that Phil Collins incorporated into this movie's score was enough to send me on the path to fulfill a college-level education in music. Initially beginning with percussion, I have expanded my horizons to piano, guitar, and after a degree in music education: every well-known band and orchestra instrument (with the exception of the harp). For students of any level, I tend to always focus on mastering breathing and classical technique. I believe that it is imperative that students develop this way as it is fundamental to any true vocalist. My methods are quite particular to the individual and their natural strengths and weaknesses, but I approach every student with a tried and true structure that leads to fast and noticeable results. I also tend to use written material lending to the classical technique as a way to standardize practice times to structure individual progress outside of lesson time. Read More

I began teaching private lessons while I was in high school about six years ago and have continued teaching privately ever since. I really enjoy passing on information that I have learned throughout the years to other aspiring individuals. I continue to stress to my students the importance of listening to all types of music as well as having a regular practice schedule. I always try and make sure that the student is having fun and is working on material that they truly enjoy. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements as well as learn the basic techniques on how to play the saxophone. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, regardless of their ability level. Read More

I began leaning in the Walter Beeler method when I was in fourth grade. I have been exposed to various different methodologies to teaching brass instruments. I would tailor my instruction to give each student the best opportunity to be successful. I will focus on exercises such as lip slurs, long tones and technique, all while trying to throw interesting musical tunes in to keep the student guessing and interested. Read More
Instruments: Guitar
I do not have that much "professional" teaching experience. However, I have taught guitar to some friends over the years. I have just decided to begin teaching. As for experience, I have been playing guitar since I was 9. My parents met playing guitar and I grew up in a very musical household. In addition to guitar I play saxophone and a little piano, but these are not my main instruments. Read More

Playing with one hand first, then the other, then using both hands. Working on rhythm and coordination follows that. For students that are in the intermediate-advanced stage, how the lessons go really depends on what the student's goals are and what they want to focus on. I have a lot of music theory knowledge and compositional skills, I can teach active listening, playing by ear, composition itself, improvising, arpeggios with fingerings, altered scales, hybrid structures of chords, tritone substitutions, voice leading, inner harmony, soloing, phrasing, and comping.
