My musical education began at the Interlochen Arts Academy and continued to flourish at the Eastman School of Music. These institutions not only equipped me with a deep knowledge of the double bass but also instilled in me a passion for sharing this knowledge with aspiring musicians. I continue to grow and learn through experience by joining orchestras such as the Albany Symphony, Binghamton Philharmonic, Erie Philharmonic as a sub musician. From the grandeur of Carnegie Hall to the historic Kodak Hall, each performance has been a testament to my dedication to the art of double bass playing. A notable achievement in my career includes being a runner-up in the Eastman School of Music Concerto Competition, an experience that further fueled my commitment to excellence. It is this blend of performance accolades and teaching expertise that I bring to every lesson, offering a unique perspective shaped by both the stage and the classroom. I continue to play with collogues and orchestras as a collaborative musician and work to make as much meaningful music as I can.

The methods I work in are very particular for the specific student. I work to cater my teaching to the student rather than the other way around. It really is important to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the individual student to be able to determine what is the best course of action. For early beginners I work with the Simandl book, as well as exercises and etudes that are common such as Sturm, and Petracchi. I do not shy away from etude books that were originally intended for other instruments and I often ask more advanced students to look at cello etudes and books as well as the violin studies.
