I began to assist to my percussion at the age of 16. First just as a helper, then my teacher began to transfer me some of his students. I have taught classical percussion rudiments on the snare drum and keyboard instruments as well as drum set. I am more passionate about teaching cajon and bongos because I get to teach the music I grew up listening to. Having said that my strength is the vibraphone because I have been playing it professionally for the past 8 years. Read More

I am a classically trained flutist with a preference for French Romanticism, Modern/Contemporary pieces, and Baroque works. I graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in French and Music, focusing on flute performance. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Music in Music Education program at William Paterson University and am projected to receive my degree in May. Additionally I play the alto saxophone, on which I am mostly self taught. Read More

Hello! I am a trumpet player and music theoretician who loves teaching and sharing my knowledge with students of all ages. I then went on to the University of Massachusetts-Amherst where I graduated with an MM in Trumpet Performance and a Graduate Certificate in Music Theory Pedagogy. Read More

Every student is different so I never take a cookie cutter approach in my lessons. I will address every issue or question each individual student has. I like to figure out what inspires my students and use that to cater their lesson to them. If one of my students really like movie theme music we will learn those songs. If one of my students doesn't like playing classical music we will work on jazz, funk, and rock! Read More

Teaching people to be musicians is probably the best thing I can think of doing as a career in my life, other than of course performing live and playing with bands and making music. I would love to teach people how to play music so that they can teach others and the world can be full of music. Together, we can help change the world. Playing music for charity and benefits is something I also do. Read More
Instruments: Flute Piccolo
I have been teaching for more than four years, and each time I encounter a student, I encounter new challenges. I am somewhat stern, yet kind, and I can easily make students laugh. I also try to find out more about the subject that each student likes so that we can both incorporate a bit of fun into the lesson. My sense of humor has come in handy more that once when I find that a student is struggling. Read More
Instruments: Trombone Euphonium
In the first lesson, I always make sure to spend the time gauging the student's skill level. For beginners, I will look to introduce them to Herbert L. Clarke's studies in technique for euphonium players. For trombones, I look to be sure they are hitting trombone positions accurately and quickly, using either the same Clarke book or by using the first exercises in Arban's essentials for trombone. At the intermediate level, I begin to use the Rochut etude books so that all students can grasp musicality and phrasing in a simple setting. Read More
