Music for Little Mozart Series is great method to keep little kids interested and help to have fun while learning. The Music Workbook contains pages of coloring, tracing, matching, ear training and listening that have been carefully designed to reinforce the musical concepts introduced in the Music Lesson Books. Alfred Piano Method gives you tons of options for teaching the pianoincluding a basic course and a prep course that have supplemental books (recital books, technique books, and notespellers) that coordinate with them. Building a close relationship with the students and their parents is also important to me. Parents are encouraged to be present for the lesson but it is not a requirement. I find that when parents are present, keeping track of what needs to be practice can be much easier for the student. There is nothing that can replace the support of the students parents. I prefer to teach in my home but would be happy to consider traveling to you if that works better for you. Read More

I am a Music Processional the same amount of time since I am a teaching professional. I have been teaching private lessons since I was 22 years old and loving to build great musicians that are performing today. I studied guitar under the auspices of both Larry Coryell and Sal Salvador who are prominent jazz musicians that are well versed in all styles of music. I have transgressed their teaching techniques that I have brought to my students young and old. Read More

My beginners start on violin, and the first few weeks learning the basics of position and posture. Then I start them with Suzuki Book 1 and supplemental rhythm and theory exercises. After book 1, I assess their progress and drive and either switch them to Barbara Barber's Solos for Young Violinists, or have them stay through Suzuki Book 2 and 3. If my students have interest in viola, I encourage them to stay on violin until they are in high school or even longer (through Mozart concertos) if possible. Read More

I am very positive about teaching my students. I have the knowledge to teach about the theory, technique and flow of the music up through the intermediate level. I don't necessarily stay with the music until it is perfect, because as the student learns more they can always come back to it and play it better. I do encourage my students to perform pieces they are doing well with, it's always fun to play for a small group and share each others gifts. Read More

I have been successfully teaching, both privately and in school settings, for over thirty years dating back to college, and my main focus has always been each student's individual relationship to music. Over the years it has become clear to me that every student is different and accordingly every student will find a different path to their love of music through an instrument or genre that they choose. To succeed as a musician, what is consistent is the necessity of routine and regular practice as well as an understanding of the theory at the core of their performance. Read More
