The methods through which I choose to teach vary based on each student and instrument. The individual student's age and purpose for study (what they want to get out of the lessons) also plays into any chosen methodology. What I am certain of and what I am consistant in teaching all of my students is a mastery of performance fundamentals as well as at least a rudimentary understanding of music theory. Read More
Instruments: Piano Keyboard
My goodness! Teaching for me began in classes of four to five kids, with no materials aside from our little keyboards and one music book. We had a blast there, and I look forward even more to being able to teach children and adults on a one-on-one basis, perhaps even one-on-two! I am a collaborative teacher, and will guide you through different lesson options and curriculum that best fit the student’s learning style and age. Read More

In all cases, the most important thing I try to teach is the love for this art and therefore for the instrument I'm teaching, because that is the best thing a teacher can teach you. I encourage all my students to set goals that are real and possible to accomplished. Acknowledging their advance is a key thing to motivate them to go further every time, always taking care of his health avoiding any kind of injuries through setting a good practice routine with proper warm-ups. My teaching philosophy is centered around personalized learning, where I strive to create an environment that encourages students to take ownership of their own learning. I use a variety of methods and practices to achieve this, such as creating custom lesson plans and materials tailored to the individual needs of my students[1][2]. I also emphasize frequent assessment data and one-on-one meetings with students to ensure they are on track[2]. When designing a course, I focus on defining goals for student learning rather than course content[3], and I strive to create an atmosphere that is both engaging and challenging for my students Read More

I have taught both privately and in a classroom setting. In addition to my school performances, I have also played with many bands since the age of seventeen. In general, I have been teaching since 2004 and it is the best job in the world! I absolutely love teaching and I always apply an enthusiastic mindset when I am teaching. Some of my students who have taken lessons with me have moved on to join the school band, play at concerts and competitions, and write their own music! Testimonial from BM: One of my student's parents recently commented to me in an email the following about her daughter: "She LOVES piano and she ADORES you...everytime we leave, she comments, 'Adrienne is the best piano teacher ever'." Instruments: Guitar Violin Viola
My beginners start on violin, and the first few weeks learning the basics of position and posture. Then I start them with Suzuki Book 1 and supplemental rhythm and theory exercises. After book 1, I assess their progress and drive and either switch them to Barbara Barber's Solos for Young Violinists, or have them stay through Suzuki Book 2 and 3. If my students have interest in viola, I encourage them to stay on violin until they are in high school or even longer (through Mozart concertos) if possible. Read More
