I use a variety of materials for voice students. I may ask that my voice students purchase books of repertoire that contain songs useful for building on their strengths and working on their weaknesses. Whenever I meet with someone, I feel it's always best to get to know them and ask them "why music?". From there it sparks a conversation, and we start setting goals - which is super important! This is how we check in with ourselves along the way to make sure that the student is getting the most out of their lessons. My husband is in the Air Force so I have had the opportunity to teach students all over the country for over 15 years. I like using the Faber books so that the students learn their notes, theory, and all aspects of music.
