I encourage these students to develop auditory skills through imitation games and improvisation. Other students play by ear and prefer to memorize all pieces. I've been playing piano for 45 years, and have taken private lessons a total of 15 years with three different teachers.  Music is my passion, and so is teaching, so it brings me a lot of joy to share this with my students.  Music has taken me down many avenues in my life, starting at a young age.  My family are all musicians, so it has been a constant in my life.  At one point I played for church, and as a teenager I played for a ballet class.  Like I mentioned before, I've done many weddings and funerals, and look for any opportunity to play piano. I have taught both privately and in a classroom setting. In addition to my school performances, I have also played with many bands since the age of seventeen. In general, I have been teaching since 2004 and it is the best job in the world! I absolutely love teaching and I always apply an enthusiastic mindset when I am teaching.
