I love setting lofty, reasonably challenging goals for my students and giving them music they think is too hard to play, and then watching their faces light up when they hit all the right notes they didn't know were possible to hit. I have multiple guitars of varying sizes for children and beginners, an upright piano (pictured), stage equipment, recording equipment, keyboards, tuners, strings, etc. I incorporate proper instrument care, music history and love convincing students to love new genres, styles and cultures of music. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons to some of my peers that were interested at that time, around 9 years ago, and since then I've been teaching students in my home country and overseas trough skype. I had the chance to teach as a professor on several colleges in my country including kids, youngsters and elder people, which I find very interesting because although they are very different I can relate to all of them in his interest to learn about music. I adapt to all learning styles and necessary modifications/accommodations they might have in a classroom. I encourage all students to explore and discover their own learning styles and I never use shame or comparison as a motivator. My lessons are always fun and upbeat, with lots of healthy celebration of progress! My students have a practice requirement to pass of any given song, depending on their piece and their level of playing. Read More

I began playing at the age of four when I first sat down to a piano. I began creating music from the first time I started to play. From there I began taking piano lessons up until I went to study music at the University of California Santa Barbara. At UCSB I studied music composition and recording at the UCSB College of Creative Studies. After college I played keyboards in a jam band that played original music and toured all over the west coast. Read More

I want everyone to feel that they can learn music and that music can be fun to learn and grow in. So I strive to learn how a student learns and do my best to cater my teaching style and the materials I use to help them learn tothe way they learn. For example, if you are a repetitive learner than I will try to solidify the techniques by teaching those techniques over and over again until they areabsorbed. Read More

Depending on the level of the student and instrument, I incorporate a mixture of theory, aural skills, technique, and repertoire. All of my piano students play Hannon exercises to build up their finger strength and dexterity as well as scales. Vocal students and guitar students likewise learn scales and exercises for the sake of technique. All students start each lesson by practicing reading rhythms at varying complexities, then creating their rhythmic patterns. Read More
