I believe that learning how to play an instrument/sing with others in an ensemble setting helps reinforce what we work on in the lesson. I keep my lessons low pressure and laid back. This is a fun hobby for my students and I try to keep it that way! At the same time, I work with the student to set goals to keep them accountable and making progress. I don't make students perform in front of anybody else unless that is a goal of theirs to work towards.
