My teaching style depends on the student. The way I teach young children can be quite different than the way I teach adults. In general, I'm quite laid back. During the first lesson I usually assess a student's skill level and also ask about a student's music goals. Then I'll design a lesson plan with the student's goals in mind. I've been teaching for 10+ years now. I work mostly with beginner to intermediate adults and particularly enjoy someone discovering they can learn an instrument later in life. I love helping someone learn their first song as much as helping them work their way up to a holy grail song. I've helped a mother play a classical piece to accompany her son at a recital. Im an easygoing yet disciplined teacher, and there is nothing I love more than the learning process. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Guitar Performance and Music Business. I have cut my teeth performing in wedding bands, event groups, and supporting myself as an independent artist. Real life experience has been my greatest teacher; having had the opppurtunity to discover music with my peers, and instructors has been a huge part of my success. Read More

I began teaching as soon as I could. My dad held piano lessons out of our house and inspired me to teach guitar (the only instrument my dad wasn't terribly good at). I also taught trumpet, French horn and piano throughout high school. When I got to college, no one at Berklee really needed lessons in instruments anymore, however, I spent a lot of time tutoring kids in Music Theory, Arranging and other more technical aspects of music.
