Stopping a jam to nail down a part can be frustrating and slow the momentum of a jam session, but I've always felt it is imperative to keep everyone knowledgeable and in pocket. Students are all different and have different strengths and weaknesses. Its very important for musicians to be honest with themselves about their struggles in music.
