For older and/or more advanced students, I like to create a balance of tone warm ups, scale work, etudes, and musical rep. I encourage students to bring pieces they are interested in learning into their lessons. If a student is also interested in non-classical music (e.g. Disney tunes, Celtic music, pop, jazz, etc.), I find music in those genres at their playing level for them to enjoy. When teaching such a specialized topic as the flute, I cater to specific needs of that particular student by bringing out their strengths and providing consistent and genuine positive reinforcement. I use method books such as Trevor Wye, Rubank, and Anderson etudes, depending on the level of the student. In addition to those, I also provide some of my own materials such as scales, fingering charts, and pieces. I also pay special attention to the goals and desires of the student's guardians to know what I do to help students reach their full potential. In these venues my students were awarded Second and Third Awards. I have found this program to be a great incentive for students performance. I have utilized Faber and Faber Methods for  Piano, Let's Play Jazz and More,J. Latulippe, Hannon Revisited, because I have discovered these methods to be comprehensive. I've been teaching private lessons for 2 years; first starting with a few students from the college. Recently have sung with RICCO (performing works such as Carmina Burana). I have been in many shows, such as Into the Woods (Cinderella's Prince), Brundebar (the baker), HMS Pinafore (Captain Cochran), and Gatsby (Nick Carraway).
