I teach classical music exclusively. My strategy for utterly inexperienced students is to remove from the equation the difficulty of reading a music score, and just allow the hands to "learn" the keyboard by having the student repeating short musical sentences (either preexisting or improvised by me on the spot). While I do teach repertoire, my main goals are to foster a passion for music and the ability to approach new music my students may encounter. I also perform regularly with Samba Lolo, a renowned World-beat/Afro-pop ensemble led by Mali native Boubacar Diabate. Recent venues include theAfrican Festivalin Lowell, MA and theNortheast Kingdom Music Festivalin Albany, VT among other clubs and festivals across the United States. In addition to these creative endeavors, I have recently been touring and recording with the renowned World fusion band Newpoli. I moved to NJ 3 years ago to be closer to my musical theatre career, and have enjoyed teaching private lessons to typical and special needs students of all ages.
