I love to share my love and joy for music as I teach my students. In 1999, I graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education with piano as my major instrument. I began performing by singing in church as a child. I've participated musically in church worship services throughout my life soloing and accompanying choirs on flute and piano. My methods vary between each student. For beginning students, that are not learning in a school setting, I typlically start with Hal Lenard's Essential Elements For Band. Once the student had progressed, I will start to introduce solo repetoire that the student will be instested in, which could be pop tunes or other type of music. This will encourage the student's passion for music to grow. If the student is in a school setting, then the student will work on all of the music for school and solo repetoire. Read More

Ashley is a recent graduate of Temple University- Boyer College of Music where she earned her Bachelor in Music in Flute Performance under Mr. David Cramer, Associate Principal Flute of the Philadephia Orchestra, and Mrs. Prema Kesselman, former Principal Flute of the Santiago Philharmonic. During my internship with Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center  and volunteer work with The Cavalier Music Enrichment Program (both based in Baltimore, Maryland), I have taught music to over 250 students. From general music theory to specific instruction in brass, woodwind, and percussion techniques; I have had the privilege to work with students of various ages, spanning from sixth graders to college students. My formal teaching experience began at East Carolina University in my undergraduate years. I had the opportunity to work as an instructor for the Jazz Track at the ECU Summer Music Camp for four years before I moved on to graduate school at Peabody Conservatory. Additionally I've taught many private lessons in North Carolina and York Pennsylvania. I am proud to say my students have received honors including first chair in NCMEA All-District Jazz Ensemble as well as the ECU School of Music Scholarship. Read More
