For young children (ages 4-10), I focus primarily on building a foundation in rhythm, pitch matching, and vocal warm ups (wolf howls, lip trills, tongue trills, etc.). I set realistic goals for each student depending on their starting point. Assessing where each student is with their playing is the most important aspect of teaching. I have worked in various music stores including Bill’s Music House in order to strengthen my knowledge and pedagogy of other wind instruments.
