An award-winning musician, I was a recipient of the 2016 Luminarts Fellowship for his outstanding performance in jazz improvisation. I relocated to Washington DC after winning the drumset chair for the United States Navy Band Sea Chanters in 2017. With the Sea Chanters, I've performed for the Chief of Naval Operations, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, President of the United States at the White House, NY Giants halftime shows, and the Fireworks Spectacular with the Boston Pops. I have been playing drums for 14 years and started when I was 10. The influence I had from other drummers that I saw was what sparked my interest in playing them. Seeing the greats like Roger Taylor of Queen, John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, or even now Matt Greiner of August Burns Red, I wanted that, but I knew I couldn't get there without practice. For beginning students, I usually start with rudimental percussion grips and playing. I usually go off of Stick Control. Once the student has progressed further, I will judge how far along they are and customize they're learning abilities with their exercises and repertoire to learn. For adults, I try to find what genres they are interested and see how far along they are technique and music wise. I like to cater all of my teaching styles to each individual. Read More

I love the reward I get from seeing my students progress ! Whether it's getting through a tough snare drum solo , mastering a marching band audition piece or helping them with a cover tune on their drumset ( or even suggesting parts and ideas for an original song ) I believe this promotes confidence in a student's music ability. I've had the good fortune of seeing my students recieve scholarships to college music programs, become 1st chair snare drummers in high school marching bands and even go to the local club to watch their band perform.
