As a teacher I strive to give my students their best guide to success, knowing that every student has their own individual needs and ambitions. I like to start beginning students on Pearson's Standard of Excellence books and then broadening out to other methods after they get a good grasp of the basic elements of their instrument. More advanced players will be taught aspects of music theory and how to become more of a complete musician rather than just being a good player. Read More

For my first lesson, I ask my student to simply play something, whether it be a song he/she may have learned or something entirely impromptu. From listening to and seeing my student play, I can gauge his/her skill level in timekeeping, rhythmic phrasing, melodic phrasing, tone, musical interest, and hand technique. From there I can create a practice regimen that will facilitate my student's development in the most effective way possible. Read More

From 2009-2016 I was an instructor for a teen music program myself and other members of The Outer Vibe started called "Rock Camp." This was a week long summer camp which the students formed bands and practiced songs to play a concert at the end of the week. Read More

Under these teachers I've been fortunate to travel all over the country playing violin, one such location being Carnegie Hall for the crescendo competition. In recent years, I am currently now at Lipscomb University where I'm studying Biochemistry and Music. At Lipscomb, I continued to develop my music education but in a different fashion. I studied bass under Rob Byus, Blake Shelton's bass player. I was selected to play for Lipscomb's jazz, and commercial ensembles as a bass player and chosen to be part of the Avalon quartet as a violist. Read More
