I'm a full-time musician, writer and producer in Nashville; however I love teaching music so I fit in lessons whenever I can! In 2013 I graduated at the top of my class from Berklee College of Music with Bachelor of Music degree, double majoring in Music Production Engineering and Contemporary Writing Production and minoring in Writing for TV New Media. I moved to Nashville in early 2014 and I've been performing, writing and producing full time ever since. Read More

I have been teaching guitar for over 5 years. I started teaching my peers when I was 15, and started teaching regularly while in college. I have taught students of all skill levels. Many of my students show improvement immediately, and due to their satisfaction, typically continue lessons for multiple years. I love teaching because I understand a variety of different learning styles, and I greatly enjoy learning how to teach each new student most effectively. Read More

I believe, first and foremost, your passion for music and your instrument is the most important element when learning. There is nothing better than seeing a students eyes light up when they have accomplished their goal! With that said, I want to know what music inspires you and what styles you love. I grew up worshiping Stevie Ray Vaughn and so I focused on blues music as a young kid but draw inspiration from all different genres and learned many forms and styles. Read More

As my old cello teacher used to say, “I’m not teaching you how to play the cello, I’m teaching you how to teach yourself how to play the cello.” Providing students with the tools and guidance they need to practice and improve: that’s what I strive to do. For beginner students who are children I like to start by teaching them the songs that they like, because that keeps them focused on learning and engaged in the beginning. Then I go on to teach them the industry standards and classics that every guitar player needs to know to be effective. Finally I can move on to teaching theory and the reason why songs sound good in the first place all the while doing both Mel Bay and Hal Leonard lessons when applicable. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to 1995, I have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 25 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of jazz and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the bass guitar and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has started to grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. I do try to maintain a balance of classical music, modern music, and music theory. Read More
