Typically, I begin with regimented learning. For guitar students, I use Hal Leonards Guitar Method 1. For voice students, I teach basic breathing exercises and fun, sustainable and memorable warm-ups. From there, I begin to prep them for their first solo performances. I offer studio-wide performance opportunities for new and experienced students to show off their skills! As they progress, I teach to their interests and needs. I have used many different methods over the years and will supplement any method book to meet the individual needs of the student. My preferred method for young students is the FJH Harris Young Beginner's Guitar Method series. For older students I tend to use either Mel Bay or Hal Leonard methods to teach the fundamentals and then add onto them with whatever suits the student best.
