I use guitar tablature as the main method for music reading. I've found its the simplest and quickest way to get the student playing melodies and songs on the first day. After a quick crash course in how to read tablature, we shift into how reading it will translate to playing so that the student gains the practical application of tablature. With kids, starting off with nursery rhyme melodies is the easiest way to have them recognize melodies they are playing themselves. Read More

For everyone, I try to be calming, supportive, and as fun as possible; there are differences for various ages. With very young students, it's important to be as supportive as possible; especially when learning new things that can often be frustrating. Jacob began his musical fruition at the age of 8 years old, after being inspired by listening to Rock N Roll and being surrounded by a family of musicians. He later went on to perform with cover bands in an array of musical academies across venues in New York and New Jersey; most notably The Cutting Room, McLoones Supper Club, The Stone Pony, House of Independence, and many more.
