I meet you where you are at as a student and go from there. I like to teach methodically, building on new skills each lesson as building blocks towards bigger goals. I assign brief, targeted technical exercises as a venue to work on foundational technical skills, and incorporate these skills as much as possible into musical application. The ultimate goal is to play music and have fun, so technical practice will always be in service of playing the music you want to play. Read More

Once they have started to make some progress, I take a unique approach by asking them of their own opinion for where they would want to see themselves go. I do this to not only make it as exciting as possible for the student, but to help them achieve a vision they already have for themselves. Read More

Feel free to reach out no matter the genre, and I may surprise you! Before teaching in California I've been teaching privately for the past 3 years in Minnesota helping students to achieve their goals with the instruments from playing and singing at the same time to playing full solos and gaining finger independence avoiding injuries and guiding them to a fun and challenging way of playing.
