I like to work based on what each student needs. I encourage the student to take his or her own interests into account on a regular basis. I also use a basic foundation to determine what the student needs to attack first, such as technique, harmony, ear trinning and scales. Of course, finger, pick, and slap styles are included. All kind of styles & genres are welcome, from the more basic to the more complex genres. Read More

My teaching experience goes back to middle school. I didn't get paid for it but I would teach the drummers their part the ensembles and performances in the orchestra and jazz band. That way the teacher could focus on instructing the other students the different instruments. I started booking regular paid gigs after college. I would perform shows and people would ask for lessons after the gig, networking is a big part of the professional side of playing music I encourage listening to all styles of music. Read More

I know everyone learns at different speeds so making sure they are comfortable yet challenging is important to me.Being able to know when the student is enjoying and not making it a chore is a key to helping and encouraging a student learn. Watching them progress in their insturment is rewarding in of itself and nothing is more satisfying. As the student starts to see him or herself accomplish each lesson I like to praise, push and encourage to keep on. Read More

As I mention in the paragraph before, my approach to teaching is based on the value of Your personal, unique voice. My main goal as instructor is way more important than teach you the usual, obsolete repertoire that most of the teacher use since the beginning of times, it is instead working on making the student a unique, unparalleled music individual, through the stimulation of improvisation, instinct, composition and having a great time jamming.
