I have been studying and playing music since I was 7. I began on saxophone in my school's concert band and jazz band proceded by my own musical endeavors on electric bass playing rock and jazz music. I spent high school gigging Philadelphia with The Paisley Haze Quintet. In my undergrad studies at University of Vermont, I picked up the upright bass, studying both jazz and classical styles. My teaching method depends on what the student wants to learn, if they prefer to start learning songs first that is fine but I will still make sure to cover basic music principles in early lessons and incorporate them into the lessons. I need and expect my students to practice at least 15 minutes of per day, more if possible. Supplemented by music programs through my schooling, I progressed rapidly on upright bass, starting at age 15, and graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance. Starting in high school I began teaching students as young as 6 and as old as 65, providing in-home guitar and bass lessons.
