In each lesson the student and myself work to make goals for them to accomplish every week and discuss discuss the ways they might be able to go about accomplishing the goals. Sometimes I will make audio recordings of a student to track progress. For a student to sit and really listen to the improvemnets they have made I find to be one of my best teaching tools. To see a student smile over their happiness over music and their continuous progress and enjoyment makes me love what I do so very much. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a student progress, or better yet, develop a love for music. When my students succeed, I feel as though I have. I feel as though every student should progress at their own pace and music especially should not be something that stresses the student out (especially when it is art). I'm an exuberant and competent professional musician and instructor who loves working with students and sharing the love and discipline of my instruments. I hold vocal performance degrees from Pacific Lutheran University and Boston University. Most recently I was a 2022 Laffont District winner and named the 2022 Ted Stevens Young Alaskan Artist recital winner. I enjoy singing roles such as Fiordiligi from Cos fan tutte, and Ma Zegner from Missy Mazzoli's Proving Up, both which I sang with Boston University Opera Institute. Read More

For young beginners of piano, I start with Edna Mae Burnam's Step By Step Book 1, as it begins right away with basic reading of notes and music. From there, I progress into the Faber Piano Adventures Series. Adults will start with the Alfred Adult Piano Course. Voice students are welcome to choose one song each cycle, while I choose two. It's important to me that they get to express themselves and what they like, while also learning new pieces for their repertoire. Read More
