I am a caring and spirited instructor, who loves being able to share my love of music by teaching others. I have a performance degree in violin, and am currently finishing my masters in music therapy at FSU. This degree has pushed me to refine my skills on a few secondary instruments, including piano, voice, viola, ukulele, and guitar. I tailor my coaching approach to my student's needs. If the focus is on exams and recitals, I use Berklee and Tring Syllabus. I do focus more on skills: developing the Voice (developing a belted voice, head voice, or whatever is needed) and Performance, unless Music theory is requested. I start my students with standard songs, classical, Broadway, (unless a specific genre is requested) but expose my students to different genres and help them find the strength and uniqueness of their own voice. I try to meet every student at their level. I mold my lessons to the student's aspirations and goals. If a student is only taking lessons for fun, then the repertoire we choose can be very flexible. If they are trying to get into college or to audition for a program, we will choose repertoire together that is appropriate and puts them in the best light. I'm a young Baritone vocalist who currently studies vocal performance at the Florida State University College of Music in Tallahassee, Florida. I've been playing the piano and singing since 2008, when I began my formal training in both disciplines. Although my primary focus is in classical music, I have also had years of experience in Jazz, Musical Theatre, and Pop genres with both instruments. One of my favorite musical memories that I've made is when I was given the opportunity to sing Leonard Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms" on the stage of Carnegie Hall in New York City. Read More
