At the very beginning level I would start with fundamentals from whatever book I feel would be best for the student depending on their age and knowledge. Beforehand I definitely will need to asses their knowledge so I can do so accordingly. Basic skills like scales, music theory, arpeggios, etc. Slowly, I introduce repertoire for the student. I try to keep the lessons fun and engaging for each student.
