My method is divided in two categories: Application and theory. For beginning students we work on basic motor skills for the instrument. Through simple exercises, utilizing patterns from diagrams, most students gain a proficiency at handling the instruments within weeks. During this time students are also introduced to the notes and common chords, learning their names, titles and relationships to each other on the fretboard. In the winter of 2015, I even performed with The Temptations. During my four years there, I also performed several sub-genres of Classical Music from Sonatas and avant garde to even transcriptions of Bach Cello Suites. I have a Master's Degree in Musicology from the University of Louisville and a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Studies from Furman University. I have 30 years of music experience. In my life, I have studied with some extremely accomplished musicians, including Ian Bracchitta, Matt Olson, Steve Watson and Craig Wagner. I am currently a musician at Park Place Wesleyan Church, where I play twice a week.
