My teaching style depends on my student. If I have kids taking lessons, I keep the lessons fun and exciting, and make sure to include musical games to play that will allow the student to develop good aural and vocal skills. When it comes to adult students, I try to figure out their most efficient way of learning (kinesthetic, analytical, etc.) and cater to that. I began offering private string lessons in College during summers in Florida. I taught private string lessons. Further into my education I took internships in music therapy working with many different populations. I gave therapeutic music lessons to patients in hospitals like Massachusetts General Hospital, Worcester Recovery Center and McLean Hospital. There I ventured into teaching guitar and voice. For every one of my beginning students who wants to start playing the guitar or singing, I will alway start them off the best and most knowlegable way I know how, which would be a beginners guide. My Teaching experience with playing the guitar is correlated to my experience as a Florida Teacher. I spent a lot of time using the guitar to build rapport and create positive teacher/student relationships that motivated students to achieve not only with the guitar but their academics as well.
