I began teaching private lessons during my summers off from college, just a few students at a time.  Since beginning my teaching career, my focus has shifted slightly to group piano classes, while still teaching privately after school.  I have been a student of private instruction since the age of three, and my experiences in my private lessons have shaped the way I structure my own lessons for students.  I firmly believe that my students need to not only study solo repertoire, but also that they spend some time every week focusing on technical exercises to solidify their musical foundation. I am a musician, composer, teacher and author. I graduated from the NYC "Fame School"- Fiorello H. LaGuardia HS of Music and Art. I studied music theory and composition at Mannes Conservatory, NYC and received a BA as a Music Major from Aaron Copland School of Music/Queens College/CUNY. I took Graduate courses studying Special Ed/Music Therapy at Lehman College, NY. After in depth research with creating highly motivational music programs for all ages as well as for children that had ADD, Autism, or Aspergers, I was awarded a grant from the Grammy's to write a book.  I have traveled to Europe and the far east teaching creative music workshops. I just recently moved to the Greater Phoenix Area. I have a very strong passion for singing and bringing music to others. I have three degrees in opera, but I have worked professionally singing everything from standard ballads to gospel songs. Performing all over the world has given me the opportunity to sing and learn things about other cultures that I would otherwise never have known about.
