However, in specific moments I am willing to push a student out of their comfort zone to get them to learn something new. Piano: I am not a stereotypical piano teacher! I am very nice, but will also tell you what you need to hear. Especially with beginner, or younger students I think it is important to increase enthusiasm for the instrument while giving students the tools they need to continue pursuing higher levels of technique and understanding. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! It is important that each student progresses at their own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson, acknowledging accomplishments, fueling a students desire to progress, and finding ways to stimulate a students desire to learn more. My style is adaptive to each student but overall I am conversational, goal oriented, and keen to explore the strengths and doubts of each student. Read More

I have been singing and performing for over 10 years and have found so much joy and fulfillment through doing so. I have found that teaching is the best way to help others find that same kind of satisfaction and happiness in their lives. In 2013 I graduated with my masters degree in vocal performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
