I have taught over 50 students in 10 years. All great students but I know 12 who have gone on to play music professionally in solo work, bands, movies and TV. I have performed Folk, Mariachi, Gospel, Christian, Electronica and Classical music all over the country in bands and in my own solo work. Read More

I incorporate a well-rounded approach with my students by teaching musical skills beyond their particular instruments such as aural skills and theory. I use my background and training in Kodaly and Orff to teach music like a language by directing my students through experience and practice of the concept for better understanding. I use positive reinforcement and keep things fun for all ages. In each lesson, I work on aural skills and theory through fun warm-up games that get gradually more challenging as time continues. I work with students to understand what their goals are, what their interests are, what their backgrounds are, and we work together to create an educational trajectory that meets these goals. It's important to me that students enjoy our lessons and the work we do together. Read More

I am a versatile music teacher. As an undergraduate at Ithaca College, I learned each band and orchestra instrument from the college instructor. For example, I learned to play the oboe from the oboe professor. We had to make our own reeds and use them to play our final exam. Through this rigorous training, I learned to play all major scales and high school level music on the flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, French Horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, violin, viola, cello, double bass, and percussion.
