I have taught through Musikalessons since 2004 and had taught in my own studio and private University settings for years before that. I have also taught elementary general music, 6 yrs; orchestra in elem, mid and high school, University String Project, community orcheatra (13 yrs); choir in Albuquerque Boy Choir (9 yrs), University chorus (8 yrs), public and parochial school choirs grades 2 thru 12 (12 years). I facilitated individual an group musical collaborations, and helped train people to do the same via workshops I facilitated at conferences. I have also led community singalongs, and taught individual students vocals and percussion over this time. I'm a big believer that everyone can sing and everyone can drum, and that music is a gift inherent to being human that we all can share and rejoice in. I've performed in bands on stage since the age of 16, and have written music for several bands, often as the primary singer, songwriter and front man. Presently I play bass in the death metal band Heretical Sect, who have been featured in Decibel magazine, but my interests in music lie within a spectrum of folk, classical, metal and rock. As a teacher and tutor I engage my students on their level, and find goals within their reach to keep them amped and eager to learn in a multifaceted context of composition, technical skill and performance.  Read More
