I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I have a proven record of success preparing students for voice examinations, auditions, and competitions for the last 15 years. I have performed with The Canadian Royal Opera Company, the National Opera in Greece, the National Opera of Albania, and for various community and social functions. I start by gathering information about a student's goals and inspirations, and prior knowledge/experience. From there, we develop a plan for warmup exercises, technical exercises, literature, sight-reading, ear-training and listening excerpts to be studied. I determine whether the student needs to begin learning primarily by ear or using some kind of written notation. We find a schedule that will work with both of us. Most students have a regular weekly time, but some students need a variable time due to their individual schedule so we work that out in advance. Read More

For beginning piano students, I use Alfred's All-in-one Piano Course books. These books combine repertoire and theory, thereby cutting down on the number of books a new student needs to purchase. I use a variety of materials for voice students. I may ask that my voice students purchase books of repertoire that contain songs useful for building on their strengths and working on their weaknesses.
