Instruments: Piano Voice
I have been teaching for 10 years, both privately and in schools. I have taught voice, piano, acting, general music education and directed choirs. I emphasize a performance based approach to music. I believe that communication is the essence and purpose of music, and good technique cannot be divorced from performance. I find that creating an warm, open, non-judgmental environment in lessons allows my students to get in touch with the meaning of the music and allows them to add their own personality to their piece to create a truly individual interpretation and performance. I fit my style to each student's individual demands. Whatever you are looking to achieve in your vocal training I will be there to meet. Lessons center on learning the biology of singing and wholistic understanding of how the body is the main instrument of the voice. Resonance, Articulation, Breathing, Posture and Articulation are just some aspects of your vocal training. Diction in five languages is also an option; healthy belting and even screaming for Metal is available too! Read More

Hello and Welcome to my Musika Presence! Having been both an avid student and a teacher over the majority of my life, I understand what it is to learn from both perspectives. I have developed the skill and patience to really listen and observe individual aspiring musicians' capabilities, way of gathering information and processing it. I take students from where they are at a particular point in time, toward where they want to be. Read More

My favorite piano method book for children is the Bastien Piano Basics Series. Alternately, I sometimes use the Faber & Faber Piano Adventures. For very young children (3-6) "My First Piano Adventure," a Faber publication, is my book of choice. For adults, I usually use Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course, though sometimes I skip method books and play pieces picked by the student. When teaching drums/percussion, my method books of choice are Standard of Excellence and Winning Rhythms. Read More

I've been teaching since graduating high school part but I've been teaching consistently for the last 5 years since graduating college. I am always exploring different genres, techniques, and ideas of what music is, which has made me a good all around musician. I am a big fan of making things fun because music to me is fun to play. If the student is not having fun then I am not doing my job correctly. There does however need to be consistent practice in order for someone to progress with the instrument. Read More
Instruments: Voice Violin Electric Violin Music
I started teaching about 3 years ago, and have been consistently going to various students' homes for lessons, voice and violin alike. I have worked with all ages, from 5 years old to over 60 years old. Making sure my students constantly practice is definitely one of my key points I focus on. I push them to take on challenges they thought might not have been possible for them to achieve. I love to see their growth, week after week. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I know it helped me when I was studying voice. Along with voice I find it important that a student understands and grasps the concepts of general music theory and the history of the pieces and composers of which they will be studying in hopes that such information will create an even deeper understanding and love for music. My students will be encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as finding music that they would like to perform, so that they can feel good about their voice and stay motivated to learn.
