I am a caring, kind, and inspiring educator going into my 4th and final year at IU Jacobs School of Music for Music Education and Clarinet Performance. I am originally from Wappingers Falls, NY. I was motivated at a young age to pursue music from listening to my sister play the double bass and having excellent educators. I am looking to inspire my students just as my teachers have inspired me. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice
I am an avid singer, voice teacher, and music director. I spend the majority of my time performing and training others to perform. I am a tenor but am capable of training all voice types. My main avenues of performance are on the recital, and musical theater stages. I just finished up a production of "Children of Eden" in which I performed as Cain. I received degrees in both vocal performance and music education from Florida Gulf Coast University. Read More

I use a variety of different pedagogical approaches from Music for the Classroom - Kodaly and Orff methodology, to series like Hal Leonard, the Music Tree (Frances Clark), Piano Adventures (Randall and Nancy Faber), John Thompson and Alfred's Piano Basics. In Voice, my approach is ecclectic but effective, drawing from traditional Classical approaches & vocal building techniques to some of the latest ideas and discoveries on developing a beauty of sound and a solid foundation in the control of the breath. I like to branch out students knowledge of musical genres and get them listening to new stuff. Typically though, I begin lessons with encouraging the student to work on a song they love and enjoy that inspires them to sing/play! I also have repertoire to suggest for different voice types and skill levels. I never want students to feel discouraged or give up, so I make sure feedback is constructive. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Piccolo
I love seeing a student gain an understanding of a concept that had been challenging. In order to accomplish this "aha" moment, I try to learn how the student learns best (visual aids, explanations, listening examples) and use that to help the student. I use popular songs that the student knows to explain concepts that can be challenging. I use stickers for younger students to help mark progress and practice journals for older students to help see how much was accomplished. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I like to use a combination of Faber method since I have found them to be gradual and easy to understand while having a good variety of types of music. I also combine theory and composition along with ear training. Read More
Instruments: Piano Synthesizer Keyboard
My teaching experience dates back 20 years,as I began teaching private music lessons upon graduating from college. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More
