My teaching experience dates back to my undergraduate days, as I began teaching private lessons part-time 7 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students all across the globe in the US, Singapore, and Taiwan. I have worked with beginner, intermediate, and advanced players and adjusted to their needs accordingly, as well as gained valuable knowledge on how to efficiently resolve the difficulties encountered by the students. I am currently attending the Hartt School at University of Hartford pursuing my masters in piano pedagogy. I have been teaching piano for the past three years and absolutely love working with students of all ages and levels. I have had the opportunity to perform multiple times with the University of Central Florida orchestra, as well as in solo, chamber and New Music Ensemble settings. I started taking piano lessons at the age of 5. As a I continued to take piano lessons, I eventually in middle school began to study with a professor from Julliard until entering the university. I graduated from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University with a Bachelors of Music degree in piano performance. However, I started teaching right away and have enjoyed teaching for over 40 years. For beginners I start with Nancy Fabers books. There are colorful pictures and notes and easy steps on how to start to play and enjoy. I had a very successful year with Nancy Fabers materials. Once the children know the music alphabet, they can play any song they like. With advanced students, I start from what they know already and continue to explore all musical elements. I like to choose appropriate grade level music that the child would like, whether it is a classical or pop song. Read More

Nothing makes me happier than having the opportunity to share my love of music and guitar. Upon graduating from Skidmore College in 2000, I was accepted to Florida State University to the classical guitar program under the study of Bruce Holzman. I feel my decision to simultaneously work towards two masters degrees speaks clearly for my motivation and passion towards music.
