I work with each student to find songs which are appropriate for their voice, and songs they are excited about working on. My teaching experience is primarily from instructing at a band camp for multiple summers. Working with beginner level middle school students, it was my job to help them choose songs to play, learn their individual parts, and help them rehearse as a band. Not only was it satisfying to see how quickly they improved through practice, but by the end of each session, the students seemed exponentially more motivated to pursue their musical ambitions.
