Some featured roles include portraying Phyllis in Gilbert Sullivans Iolanthe, Despina in Mozarts Cosi fan tutte, and Susanna in Mozarts Le Nozze di Figaro. In the spring of 2009, I was a featured soloist for Charpentier's Midnight Mass at the UTSA Masterwork Concert, and again in 2010 for Handel's Messiah. Every week (or every lesson) the student will receive a sheet called Lesson Notes, which will account for the concepts and music covered in our lesson.I recommend that each student record lessons if possible for retention of technical tools covered. Listening to the lesson afterward will help the student better understand the concepts he/she is learning. I recommendpracticing a minimum of 30 minutes each day. There are some not-so-fun things about learning music (practice schedules and repetition) but there are plenty of resources out there to help students stay interested and motivated.
