My teaching style is relaxed but focused. Understanding that each student develops at his or her own pace, I am patient and willing to answer any questions as we move along. I will set a goal for each lesson, and provide material to practice in between meetings. It's important to me that I find out what the student's goals are to ensure we are heading in the right direction. An adequate grasp of the fundamentals, along with consistent practice and rehearsal times, lead to a student expediting their abilities. I started out as an academically driven violinist while playing guitar recreationally. Some featured roles include portraying Phyllis in Gilbert Sullivans Iolanthe, Despina in Mozarts Cosi fan tutte, and Susanna in Mozarts Le Nozze di Figaro. In the spring of 2009, I was a featured soloist for Charpentier's Midnight Mass at the UTSA Masterwork Concert, and again in 2010 for Handel's Messiah. In 2013, I performed as the soprano soloist at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Haydn's 'Lord Nelson' Mass, Pergolesi's 'Stabat Mater', and Poulenc's 'Gloria'. Read More
