ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:

AA, Lone Star Community College, Music BS, Texas State University, Music Education(In Progress)

Overview:
Hi! I am so excited to get started here with Musika and to start working with students who are just as passionate and love music as much as I do. I just graduated with my Associates of Arts in Music from Lone Star Community College but have had a lot of experience with experienced voice teachers who have actually performed all over the world. I've had the opportunity to join in singing with Houston Chamber Choir throughout this last year, and singing with the Houston Cecilia Chamber Choir. I'm really excited to get started!
EXPERIENCE
I haven't had much teaching experience, but I have worked with teenagers throughout this last year while getting my Associates of Arts degree over at Lone Star Community College. My high school choir director asked me if I would like to start helping out high school students with providing voice lessons, and of course, I said yes. I helped out three seniors in high school this last semester, and two out of the three of them are actually heading to Texas colleges to pursue a career in music. I'm super excited for these students, and wishing I could keep teaching them and inspiring them.
METHODS USED
For beginning students, around ages 5-9, I start with easy songs, but also teach them how singing works. I like to teach technique, and help students improve in their singing. Once students have grasped the fundamentals of singing, I'll let them start looking at solo repertoire so they can practice for a recital performance. For intermediate and advanced students, I like to see what they are interested in to see how I can teach them, and be able to keep them more engaged. I like to see progress in each and every student that I get to teach, and that's all that matters.
LESSON STYLE
I would like to see students progress each week, and each lesson. I will let them take their own pace, and see how much they can grow. I will ask intermediate and advanced students what their goals are so I can help them achieve their goals at the end of our lessons each week. For beginning students, I just want to see how they can progress and what can I keep teaching them. I want to see what inspires the students, so I can also grow to be a better instructor. As I grow to be a better instructor, I hope these students, will grow to be better singers, in which I know they all will!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
