I love teaching music to motivated students of all ages. I graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Vocal Music Education in 2010, and am almost finished with my doctorate in choral conducting. I have been singing in choirs since I was in fifth grade and studying voice privately since 2000. I've had the opportunity to travel the world singing in choirs. I love helping students find their voices!
I have a great passion for music. It has become something that I just have to do. I love instilling the same passion in others too. Music is all about making others feel good and sound good too, which is a great metaphor for life. I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Music this Spring 2016. I have studied Jazz Performance at the University of Utah and played in various Jazz ensembles as well as Rock bands, etc.

There are many elements to vocal training, from learning to read music, to breath control techniques and mastering intonation. In beginning singing lessons, most students will learn and develop proper vocal technique which will help them be able to sing in a variety of styles. This multi-faceted approach is at the core of classical vocal training, giving students a well-rounded knowledge of musical techniques. Singing lessons will also allow students to develop their musical and performance skills and give them the confidence they need to audition and perform on stage.
During voice lessons students will begin the wonderful journey into music interpretation and performance. To begin, students will focus on learning to read music, using breath control to support singing, and enhancing performance through the emotional interpretation of lyrics.
When your child wants to learn how to sing, wait to begin voice lessons. The voice can be damaged or strained if you start lessons too soon because it is not physically ready to sing every day and undergo the rigorous training required during children's voice lessons. After puberty, or around age 11 or 12, most children are physically and emotionally ready for voice lessons. By following our recommendation and waiting, you protect your child's voice. He or she is then able to learn how to sing successfully for years to come.

Eduard is an amazing teacher. (Coming from someone who previously knew the basics of playing and music.) He is not to harsh with his words and is extremely nice. Eduard has a great amout of experience and displays it through his teachings. Specifically by making it easy to follow along with his words to actions. As a person with a wondering mind whom is distracted easily, it is easy to pay attention.

Travis rocks. My 7-year-old son and I both take lessons with him. Travis has moved me off the plateau I was on with lessons that focus on theory and technique. And for my son, he's been able to instill a desire and interest that were missing when he previously took piano lessons. With Travis teaching us, the limits are the ones we impose on ourselves. Needless to say, Travis himself plays a mean guitar to boot!

I started taking voice lessons from Ali when I was 19 and a sophomore in college. Though I was hesitant to be starting "late", I felt very comfortable with Ali and her teaching style. We identified several key issues that really made a difference and improved my voice technique. It was fun to sing popular, beautiful songs in our recital! If only I lived in Los Angeles, I would still be a student. Highly recommended!

I feel she is a very professional teacher and I have already recommended your company and her to my friends who have children that play musical instruments. My 8 year old son has never been so enthusiastic to play his violin. His skills have improved almost exponentially since we have began lessons with Lauren. Your company has exceeded my expectations and I am very happy to have found it online.

Ted S. is teaching clarinet to one of my children, and piano to two others. He is extremely knowledgeable, and very encouraging. His teaching methods are keeping my children enthused about their lessons, and without that, you have nothing. Two of my children were taking piano lesson from another teacher for the past year, and not progressing. Ted has been able to evaluate their skills individually, determine what was missing in their music education, and begin again with some early basics they seem to have missed. I am convinced we are finally moving forward, and am very happy about that. I wish I would have made this change much earlier.

Rahsaan is an extremely talented player who relates really well with my teenagers. He has them both interested in learning. Given Rahsaan's expertise, it's clear that even though they are beginners now, they can learn from him for a long time to come. He's a real nice laid-back guy and both the boys really enjoy their time with him. I've been very impressed and pleased with the experience.

Darrell is A-Maz-Ing! He demands results from his students and therefore results come quickly. The time he spends teaching is intense and packed with great instruction. He is a tough teacher but offers lots of valuable instruction that is applicable for music as well as life in general. I highly recommend Darrell if you are ready for results!

Laura is a fabulous teacher. She explains concepts to me using concrete examples so that I can understand changes that I need to make to my posture, breathing, phrasing, etc. She makes warm-up exercises fun, and she's got a great sense of humor over all. Her teaching style is collaborative, more egalitarian (she respects what I already know and meets me at my level), tailored to my particular interests and strengths, and I always look forward to our lessons!
