I love teaching music to motivated students of all ages. I graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Vocal Music Education in 2010, and am almost finished with my doctorate in choral conducting. I have been singing in choirs since I was in fifth grade and studying voice privately since 2000. I've had the opportunity to travel the world singing in choirs. I love helping students find their voices!
I have a great passion for music. It has become something that I just have to do. I love instilling the same passion in others too. Music is all about making others feel good and sound good too, which is a great metaphor for life. I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Music this Spring 2016. I have studied Jazz Performance at the University of Utah and played in various Jazz ensembles as well as Rock bands, etc.

You will learn something new each time without leaving the house when you participate in voice lessons at home.
Have you always wanted to be a singer? You are never too old to learn how to sing or to become a better singer. Musika offers individualized adult voice lessons geared to your needs. Learn to sing Pop, Jazz, or Classical music, or prepare for a national competition like American Idol or X-Factor. Expand your vocal range or learn how to choose songs that compliment your voice. No matter what your musical goals are, the professional instructors in our network are here to help. We train you to become a better singer whether you've just started singing now or have been singing since you were a child.
During voice lessons you will learn how to use your voice as an instrument, including proper technique for singing, breathing exercises, technical passages to improve your range and tone, and learning to sing specific songs! During your lessons you can learn various styles from classical and opera to R&B. Many students choose to learn songs from artists that are on the radio, as that is the music they enjoy listening to. During lessons you will also learn how to enhance your performance and audition skills, so if you are interested in auditioning for school musicals, community theatre performances, or reality tv competitions, then our network of teachers can definitely help you!
You can achieve a healthy voice if you take care of your body. Start with a balanced diet. It includes whole grains, vegetables and fruits, not processed foods or sugar. Then drink water rather than caffeinated and sugary beverages. Limit alcohol, stop smoking, and don't take illegal drugs. Exercise every day for at least 20 minutes. As you run, bike, or swim, you increase your fitness level and your body's ability to fight illness. Finally, rest your voice and your body. Avoid yelling or cheering, get enough sleep at night and limit stress when possible. With your healthy body, you have a healthy voice.
Singing for pleasure or as a profession is one fantasy many kids have. To be successful, they need voice lessons, but a child's voice isn't ready for vocal training until the child has reached puberty. At that time, the voice is mature enough to undergo regular singing, vocal exercises, and other rigors associated with voice lessons. We recommend kids wait until they are at least 11 or 12 before they start voice lessons. The instructors in our network can then provide the personalized instruction your child needs while he or she pursues the possibility of a profession in voice performance.

Travis is the greatest. He knows his music and how to teach it. He gives you time to learn, but will not allow student time to get lazy. I know he teaches all age groups. Young pre-teens to us old folks 78 years young. I have been taking lessons from him since early December 2014. He is a true professional. You can't go wrong with him.

Dan gave private clarinet lessons to my daughter, Annie, for two years. During that time, she excelled as a member of the middle school band, and maintained first-chair. Dan is an excellent teacher, and Annie looked forward to having one-on-one time with him. In addition to practicing pieces with her, he helped her with scales and greatly improved her tone quality.

Unbelievably Awesome. My daughter is a beginner and has some special needs. Justin is more than patient and helpful while being completely thorough and pushing her (in a good way) to try harder. He is encouraging and teaches effectively. I am very pleased. More important, so is my daughter. Thank you Musika! So grateful we found your service and connected with Justin. We highly recommend him.

We value Chelsea for the quality of her lessons, but also for the flexibility of her schedule. She has worked around family vacations, impromptu summer camps and the upcoming school year. Emily is better prepared to start middle school band this year due to flute lessons from Chelsea and we plan to continue the lessons for the foreseeable future.

Laura is the kind of teacher you wish you had in all your studies: gracious, easy-going, light-hearted, yet behind the easy going exterior is an excellent musical mind with everything at her fingertips. I've had about 5 teachers in my life who count as really influential people, and Laura easily fits that category. She lets you be yourself so that you are fully present rather than old-school doctrinaire style, what I call "stiff as a German, sig-heil" teachers. She's the polar opposite. Brava, Laura! Thank you so much!

Andrew is very encouraging and uplifting, but also isn't afraid to tell you your weaknesses. Andrew also is super awesome with scheduling. Fits around your schedule all the time. He really knows what he is doing and can help you reach your goal in the time you would like to. Couldn't have gotten a better teacher, who continually helps me grow and pushes me.

Erin has been a wonderful voice/piano teacher for our 7 year old daughter. She is talented, patient, and has a wonderful demeanor. She has been consistent with her teaching in piano and voice. She keeps record of where the students leave off so that they know what to expect the following week. I would definitely recommend Erin to anyone looking for a skilled piano/voice teacher.

Martina has been a great teacher. Our son is 8 and had taken some piano lessons before starting with Martina. She came right in and got him to improve. She does a great job of giving him just enough of a challenge to make him work and learn but not any pieces that are so overwhelming he can't get them. She has helped him through a lot of early music theory so that he not only can play the piano but understands the music he is reading in all of its complexity.

I started my 5 yr old daughter with Karleen this Fall. Karleen has a calm and honest disposition. My daughter adores her and cannot wait for her arrival. I was concerned because my daughter is not so willing to "practice" during the week. Karleen advised me to allow her habits of practicing to evolve naturally as her love and understanding of piano increases. She emphasized how nurturing my daughter's love of music is most important. This was music to my ears :)
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
