Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I am a huge fan of the Arban's technique book for brass, but I like to keep lessons fun with songs that challenge my students at their level. For beginning students who are ages 8-13 will first use the Standard of Excellence red book and then they will transfer to the blue book. Intermediate and Advance will use the Foundations for superior performance book. We will start to pick solos that they are able to play and work on them.
