I love music and I love teaching! I graduated in 2014 with my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Utah State University and, in 2018, my Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Kansas. I had the opportunity to be a part of the Chamber Singers at both schools where I was able to perform across Utah as well as Dallas, Kansas City, China and Costa Rica. I’ve been part of ensembles on two professional recordings and remain an active performer and director of local groups in Salt Lake County. Read More

Once there, I used Utah as a base to extend my music repertoire. Having performed with several different Utah groups, including the Weber State orchestras, wind ensemble, and jazz band, Chamber Orchestra Ogden, and others, in 2016, I became an arranger and performing member of the High West Music ensemble. In the fall of 2016, I accepted a teaching position with The Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps in Salt Lake City, UT where I taught both brass and visual. Read More

It's important to me that students enjoy what they are singing--if they don't, they won't be motivated, are less likely to practice, and they won't progress as quickly. Still, I believe students should sing a variety of literature (and may even find something they didn't know they enjoyed), and regularly start beginning students with some simple Italian art songs. Students in my studio are exposed to art songs, folk songs, opera arias, and showtunes. Read More

My teaching experience started when I became a choir Director in my church in 2000,I love to teach different harmonies for different vocal ranges plus I will teach them with the solfa notations which is the music notes.i remember some of the choristers where tone deaf but I always love to take it slow and steady with them eventually they all got better and I was fulfilled.its always fun and conducive in my classes because I always make it look easy and not stressful.i always tell my students that the only way you can be better is daily practice and dedication. I really want to focus on what students want to become. It is really important to me to see a student develop a passion of music. With that everyone learns at their own pace so I want to be able to help them learn at their pace. Something I also think is important is I cannot teach everything in one session. If the student is wanting to learn and grow then they have to take on practicing on their own. Read More

I grew up in a musical household and took lessons in viola, piano, handbells, and guitar before I convinced my parents that voice was my true musical passion. I took voice lessons throughout middle school, high school, and majored in music my first year at college. I have taught many informal vocal lessons to friends and family, but am new to studio teaching! I am creative and enjoy finding new ways to help students reach their goals! Read More
