I create custom lessons for each student in my studio. Its important to me that students feel they are progressions towards their goals and I prioritize that in my lesson planning. I typically give students 2 or 3 songs to practice at a time, and I always include a classical or folk art song, and a musical theater song. I use the Piano Adventures method for most of my beginners. I generally include materials from a variety of sources, especially if the student needs more work in a particular area. I do have other methods that I use as needed, Piano Pronto, Supersonics, and Carol Matz Interactive Piano. There is also the option of going method-less, focusing on the skills that are in each piece of music. Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet Music

My musical teaching goes back to high school, when I was the section leader in marching band on clarinet and the saxophone section leader in jazz band. I lead sectionals and helped those in my section learn the music and improve as players. I tried to make the sectional time as effective as possible, as we usually only had about 30 minutes.
