I love teaching and finding ways to motivate and get my students excited about learning and progressing on their instrument. It is very important for any student at any level to have a strong technical foundation starting with proper posture and hand shape. I have loved band for a long time and am currently studying to be a music teacher with a band emphasis at BYU. I do teach through lesson books but I've always found that they're better used as a guide rather than the focus of every lesson. I like to give the students the freedom to learn what they want to learn.
