I have been teaching for 10 years, both privately and in schools. I have taught voice, piano, acting, general music education and directed choirs. I emphasize a performance based approach to music. I believe that communication is the essence and purpose of music, and good technique cannot be divorced from performance. My love of teaching started when I was a counselor at a musical summer enrichment program back in 2020. I got to work with so many young performers with varying skill levels and aided them in discovering their voice and confidence. For Voice Students: I start each lesson with 10-15 minutes of vocal warm-ups and scales. The remainder of the lesson revolves around vocal pieces that either I think would be a good match for the voice, age, maturity, and ability of the student, or preparing a student for an audition or performance that they would like to perform a specific piece for. I grew up in Los Angeles and later relocated to the east coast to pursue my music degree. I live in Amherst, Massachusetts where I teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced vocal students via Facetime and Zoom as well as in person lessons in various locations. In my free time I love to travel.
