I taught in my home studio and at The Musical Arts Center of San Antonio, and at The Stone Oak Youth Theatre and Dance Co. I have worked with students of all ages and musical backgrounds. I am a graduate from Texas AM University Kingsville. I studied with soprano Dr. Melinda Brou during my undergraduate years. I received my BM in 2013, and I am now working on my MM at the University of Texas at Austin where I study under the direction of baritone David Small. They learn to read music almost immediately, and I give them the tools to be able to pick up any piece of music and play it independently. Working with beginner level middle school students, it was my job to help them choose songs to play, learn their individual parts, and help them rehearse as a band. Not only was it satisfying to see how quickly they improved through practice, but by the end of each session, the students seemed exponentially more motivated to pursue their musical ambitions. Voice in particular is a difficult thing to learn, since the mechanisms are internal and difficult to see as well as hard to control directly. I have almost 30 years of experience as a recording and performing musician. I studied in Detroit, London and Los Angeles, and recieved my BA in music and Performing Arts in 20011. Since then I have made a living writing pop songs and movie soundtracks, performing and teaching.
