I am a Venezuelan violinist who grew up in "El Sistema", which has let people learn to love music, and has given the opportunity to less resourceful kids to make music through dedication and team work. In 2002 I joined my city's orchestra, the "Ciudad Guayana" orchestra in Venezuela. I played both first and second violin throughout my 16 years of being there. We performed challenging repertoire such as Scheherazade, Mahler, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven. Read More

For any student, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements series. This method book will help teach the basic fundamentals needed to progress on the instrument. For children, I will continue through the method book series while supplementing it with short popular pieces that may be of interest to the student. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep it fun and enjoyable. Read More

I am just beginning my journey doing private lesson on a consistent basis but I have taught lessons off and on for a few years. I have also volunteered with the Central Florida Community Arts youth orchestra, playing with them as well as assisting them with their performances. I am currently a certified teacher in the state of Florida and have taught science for Seminole county public schools for the past two years. Read More

I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. I have also noticed that making lessons fun in terms of proper techniques ensures the student will not develop bad habits in the future. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! Read More

Practice makes perfect. I ask students to practice as often as possible, no matter the skill level. I prefer students to start practice with scales and warm-up drills, then move on to composed pieces. Along with practice, I hope that students will not only play, but listen to their music, such as the Suzuki method. The more familiar students are with the different pitches in a song, the better they will be able to adjust their performance to correctly match. Read More

So many students are encouraged to learn before they really have their own grasp of what music is to them. Getting in touch with the inner musician is important early on to allow development of the passion over time. It is very important to me to make music fun while also emphasizing it's rewards. I love to see students grow and I love to encourage whatever path that it follows. Read More

Out of all of the things in the world, nothing is more amazing, then when I witness my students develop a true passion for music. Music comes from within. When you play something you love, it is no longer the black notes and lines on the page, but becomes so much more when it comes from your heart. When I see a student accomplish a goal they set for themselves, it makes me feel so wonderful to witness them accomplish their goal. Read More
