During the fall I also have been a low brass technician for a local marching band. Finally I have played in many pit performances for local high schools. My primary instrument is trumpet and I have played in a variety of bands and sung in a variety of choruses of the years. I give the tools for the student to become a better player and to build confidence. If the student is participating in the schools music program I help them prepare for stage band performances or recitals. My teaching experience is very fresh as I only have tutored freshmen in beginner trombone and music theory. I believe if I can teach college music majors trombone I can teach just about anybody. My personal trombone experience is that in high school I studied jazz and learned jazz trombone methods. However, in college I studied mostly classical playing and that would be strongest curriculum. I've also studied piano and found that accompanying a student or at least learning the theory of a song can go a long way in a lesson. Read More

Getting everything secure right at the beginning is the key to having players who are comfortable and will result in greater successful down the line. I believe that good breathing techniques are the key to playing brass instruments successfully. I will work with students on breathing, buzzing and creating a beautiful sound on their instruments.
