I graduated in May with my master's in voice from the Eastman School of Music. I hold bachelor's degrees and certifications in music education and music therapy. I try to focus the lessons on the individual student. I use faber books as my main method, but also incorporate a lot of sheet music for my students' different repertoires. I have taught many classes on music fundamentals and theory.  I am also very knowledgeable about Alexander technique - a technique used to help those who suffer from performance anxiety. For very beginning students, I usually start with the Suzuki Method Books and All For Strings Comprehensive String Method Books. I usually encourage my students to read music, but for the youngest students I start by playing with them and having them copy me. Once they are ready, I start teaching them basic music theory that will help them read music. For intermediate to advanced players I institute a routine of practicing scales and etudes as well as a solo piece that is appropriate for their ability level. Read More

For more advanced students, who have an idea of what they want from their lessons, I will typically play less than with beginner students and focus on listening to the skills and techniques they have already developed. This allows us to have more in depth discussions about the finer details of their playing such as expressivity, technicality and really playing music as opposed to simply playing notes on a page. I feel that nothing is more rewarding than seeing that my student has learned something and from that, develops a passion for music. I try to keep each student's progress at their own pace by setting and keeping realistic goals for my students at their lessons. I am very positive during lessons, because I feel that acknowledging any accomplishment helps keep the student interested and fuels a desire to continue to get better. Read More

During my middle through high school years as a performing arts student, I began teaching to the younger grades because I loved filling my time with music performance and education. I was honored to perform at various venues on Philadelphia's Avenue of the Arts, such as the Kimmel Center. I have performed with the Curtis Institute of Music, Temple University's orchestra, the All-City Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as multiple performances with the conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
