Music has been my life for so long and it is my passion! I started reading sheet music when I was 4. I started to learn Piano when I was 5. At age 7 I started learning basic Music Theory. At age 10, I began my journey with Flute and I have been playing ever since! I have played with the Arlington Community Orchestra, Flower Mound Philharmonic Orchestra, Flower Mound Flute Choir, TWU Wind Symphony, TWU Flute Choir, TWU Jazz band, TWU Pep band, and recently became a sub for the Mesquite Symphony.  Read More

Progress might be slow or we might be able to jump to more advanced music in the first month of meeting but I understand that every student is different and will progress at their own pace and I will do my best to help guide them. I have multiple books to work from based on the age and skill level of the student. I work fundamentals with all levels and can teach topics from multiple angles. My music library is expanding and becoming more diverse so that I give work solos with all of my students. I have been playing piano since age 6 and clarinet since age 10. During my time at university I was taught to play all of the woodwinds, focused on pedagogy and music technology, and achieved many awards and recognition. My clarinet/woodwind pedagogy instructor was a student of Himie Voxman, author of many woodwind teaching method books. My university band was, at that time, considered one of the best in the state of SC, and was invited to play at the state music educators' convention in 2003. Read More

Understanding the student's interest would be my priority goal. Helping students not just playing the instrument, but also loving it, so they will cherish the time with their instruments. Having fun while learning music is always my target in teaching music. Students and parents are welcome to provide the music they would love to learn. That should keep their attention in having fun.
